MOHAP exam 2026: format, booking and attempts

MOHAP licenses healthcare professionals in the Northern Emirates - Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. You do not book the exam first: you request a Health Professional Evaluation, MOHAP checks your qualifications and experience against the Unified PQR, and only then is your application transferred to a scheduled test (or to exemption). Passing leads to the evaluation certificate, which your employer uses to apply for your licence.

MOHAP's published conditions: no gap in professional practice of more than three years, an accredited qualification from your country of origin, certificates in English or legally translated with the originals uploaded, and a valid passport. Experience counts from the date your professional licence was issued in the country where you practised. Check your title before you pay with the professional title classifier.

Two groups have specific rules in MOHAP's service card. New nursing graduates no longer need the six-month training period if less than two years have passed since graduation - they can sit the evaluation exam directly within two years of graduating. And professionals transferring from DHA or DOH keep their route only while that licence is valid or has been expired for no more than six months; beyond that, the MOHAP exam is required.

MOHAP allows three test attempts per category, and under the Unified PQR your attempts at DHA, DOH and SHA count towards the same UAE total of three. A failed attempt anywhere in the UAE therefore reduces what you have left for MOHAP. Once issued, MOHAP's service card states the evaluation certificate is valid for five years, provided your experience is not interrupted for more than two years.
