How to register and book the NHRA exam
NHRA's own process, in order.

Apply online first
Every professional must submit a complete licence application through NHRA's online system before sitting the exam.

Receive your eligibility code
Once NHRA approves the application, you receive a code to register for the exam.

Book with Prometric
Use the code to schedule your exam on Prometric's website.

Study the references
NHRA publishes examination references for each profession on its Licensure Exams page.

Sit and complete your licence
A pass lets NHRA continue your licence application.

Who sits the NHRA exam
NHRA publishes examination references for around forty professions - medical, dental, nursing, midwifery, pharmacy and a long list of allied health titles from ambulance nurse and EMT to radiologic, laboratory, respiratory and optometry technicians and technologists. You apply to NHRA first; the exam comes only after your application is approved and NHRA issues an eligibility code for Prometric.

NHRA's Pharmacy Qualification Requirements (March 2023) set out the Bahrain Pharmacy Licensure Examination rules in full. All pharmacy professionals must pass it; only Bahraini or GCC nationals holding a valid GCC licence are exempt. A pass is valid for five years - if you do not practise within five years you repeat the exam. You get four consecutive attempts within three years of the first, and Bahraini applicants who fail the fourth must complete training before two further attempts within two years.

Attempts, re-sits and results
Attempts
NHRA's Pharmacy Qualification Requirements allow four consecutive attempts within three years of the first. Bahraini applicants who fail the fourth attempt must complete training, after which two more attempts are allowed within two years. NHRA has not published an equivalent rule for other professions in the documents we found, so confirm yours with NHRA.
