How Booking Works: The Quick Answer

Every GCC licensing exam is booked in the same two stages: the regulator makes you eligible, then you book a seat with its test provider, Prometric or Pearson VUE. You cannot go straight to Prometric and book: without the ID, permit or code your regulator issues, the booking system will not let you in. The table sums up each regulator's route, from its own published documents.

DHA fees are from DHA's CBT Guideline (September 2026) and are paid to Prometric in US dollars; the dirham figures are at the fixed peg. Exam-by-exam fees are on our DHA exam fees page. Where to sit, centre by centre and country by country, is in our Prometric test centre guide.

Before You Book: Five Things to Have Ready

  1. Your exact title. The exam you sit depends on the title you are licensed under, and some titles are assessed by oral exam or are exempt. Check your title with the regulator, or with our licence eligibility checker, before you pay for anything.
  2. A passport that matches your application. Every regulator checks your ID against your booking at the centre. DHA's assessment manual asks you to contact DHA at least five days before the exam if your passport name does not match Sheryan, and SCFHS requires the name on your permit to match your ID exactly.
  3. An international credit card. DHA lists Visa, MasterCard and American Express for Prometric payments, and Prometric's SCFHS FAQ says it does not accept cash. Ask your bank about international transactions before booking day.
  4. DataFlow started. Verification is usually the slowest step, and DHA lets you sit the exam while DataFlow runs. Estimate the cost with our DataFlow cost calculator.
  5. A realistic date. Fees are not refunded at DHA or DOH if you change your mind, and SCFHS counts a no-show as an attempt. Book when your practice scores say you are ready, not before. A free timed mock test tells you where you stand.

How to Book the DHA Exam (Dubai)

DHA's computer-based exams are delivered by Prometric. These are the steps in DHA's own order:

  1. Check your mode of exam. DHA lists, for every specialty and title, whether you sit a computer-based exam, an oral assessment or neither.
  2. Create your Sheryan account. Enter your name exactly as it appears on your passport.
  3. Copy your DHA Unique ID. Sheryan issues it once your account is set up, and it links your exam booking to your file.
  4. Generate your Eligibility ID. This confirms you are cleared to sit the exam for your title. The AED 200 credentialing fee is paid through Sheryan.
  5. Book and pay on Prometric's DHA page (www.prometric.com/DHA). Choose a centre and date and pay the exam fee: USD 180, 240 or 280 depending on your exam, listed exam by exam on our DHA fees page.

Centres. DHA exams run only at biometric-enabled Prometric centres, because fingerprints are taken at check-in. If your nearest centre does not show DHA in the locator, choose another.

Changing your booking. DHA's manual allows changes up to 5 calendar days before the exam on Prometric's site, at a centre-specific charge. DHA exam fees are not refunded. Cancelling or not attending does not count as a failed attempt, but you lose the fee.

Results. DHA uploads Pass or Fail to Sheryan within two working days; the score is not shared. The format, pass mark for each exam and attempt rules are on our DHA exam guide.

How to Book the DOH Exam (Abu Dhabi, formerly HAAD)

The DOH exam, still often called the HAAD exam, is delivered by Pearson VUE, not Prometric, and booking starts in TAMM:

  1. Get approved for the exam. Apply through TAMM. The booking step opens once DOH's Health Professionals Licensing Department approves your application for the exam.
  2. Pay the pre-booking fee in TAMM. DOH's exam fees are non-refundable, including for rescheduling, cancellation and non-attendance.
  3. Open the Pearson VUE link. After payment, a link to Pearson VUE appears under the action drop-down in your TAMM account.
  4. Choose your date and centre in Pearson's scheduler. The locations offered are the ones running your exam.
  5. Print your confirmation and bring it to the test centre.

Pearson emails come from addresses ending in @pearson.com and can land in spam. For booking problems, Pearson VUE's DOH page lists DOH on +971 2 666 4442 or exam@doh.gov.ae, and Pearson VUE on +44 203 467 3252 or HAADcustomerservices@pearson.com.

DOH reports Pass or Fail only, lets you re-sit 3 months after a fail, and counts every UAE attempt towards the three you are allowed under the Unified PQR. The full rules are on our DOH exam guide.

How to Book the SCFHS Exam (SMLE, SNLE, SPLE, SDLE)

SCFHS's licensure exams are delivered by Prometric at SCFHS-approved centres in Saudi Arabia and abroad. SCFHS's applicant guides set out the same route for each exam:

  1. Apply through SCFHS's e-application. SCFHS processes your application and issues a scheduling permit with your eligibility period. You receive an email with instructions for accessing it.
  2. Schedule with Prometric using the permit. Scheduling may not be open more than three months ahead, and SCFHS sets the testing windows.
  3. Plan your attempts. You can sit up to four times a year until you pass, but only once per testing window. SCFHS says it is not responsible if you leave attempts to the end of the year and find no seat.
  4. Bring your permit and ID. Centres open at 7:30 a.m. Bring the permit, on paper or on your phone, and a passport (or a national or residence ID in Saudi Arabia) in exactly the same name. Arriving more than 30 minutes late counts as an attempt unless SCFHS accepts your reason.

Changing your booking. Prometric's SCFHS FAQ (2022) lists free changes 30 or more days before the exam, a USD 50 fee at 16-30 days, and loss of the fee at 15 days or less. Only SCFHS can extend or reset your eligibility, not Prometric.

Each exam has its own page with its blueprint, pass score and SCFHS's official reading list: the SMLE for doctors, the SNLE for nurses, the SPLE for pharmacists and the SDLE for dentists.

How to Book the QCHP Exam (Qatar)

Qatar's Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP, still widely called QCHP) runs its qualifying exam through Prometric:

  1. Apply for evaluation on the DHP website and pay the fees that apply. The qualifying exam is taken at the evaluation stage.
  2. Check whether you are exempt. Equivalent exams, such as NCLEX for nurses or USMLE, PLAB 1 and AMC for physicians, exempt you. Attach them to your application.
  3. Book with Prometric through Prometric's online booking page for the Qatar DHP programme. Prometric centres include DHP's Doha centre on C Ring Road.
  4. Use your pass within three years. A pass stays valid for 3 years; submit your evaluation within that window.

For booking problems, DHP's exam page lists Prometric on +31 320239530 (Sunday to Thursday) or +31 320239800 (Friday to Monday), or Pnl-mena@prometric.com. DHP allows five attempts per scope, with no set gap between them; see our QCHP exam guide.

NHRA, DHCA, OMSB, MOHAP and SHA

NHRA (Bahrain)

Submit a complete licence application through NHRA's online system first. Once NHRA approves it, you receive an eligibility code, which you use to schedule the exam on Prometric's website. NHRA publishes exam references for each profession on its Licensure Exams page. See our NHRA exam guide.

DHCA (Dubai Healthcare City)

Apply to DHCA online. DHCA emails you when you can proceed to the exam, and the Eligibility ID is valid for three months, so book a date inside that window. Fees are paid online to Prometric and are non-refundable: USD 220-280 for medical and dental specialties and USD 180-220 for nursing and allied health. Bring your original passport; you get a Pass or Fail score report at the centre. See our DHCA exam guide.

OMSB (Oman)

Create an account at pearsonvue.com/omsb and schedule there. Pearson emails a confirmation of the date and location within 48 hours. You can sit at OMSB's National Test Center at Innovation Park Muscat or a Pearson VUE centre abroad, rescheduling is free up to 48 hours before, and your score report is emailed within 24 hours. See our Oman exam guide.

MOHAP (Northern Emirates)

Apply for a Health Professional Evaluation with UAE PASS on MOHAP's website or app, upload your documents and pay the evaluation fee (AED 300-500 by category). MOHAP reviews the request in 5 working days, then sends a DataFlow payment link, and your application moves to a scheduled test or to exemption. MOHAP's service pages do not name the test provider, so follow the booking instructions in your approval. See our MOHAP exam guide.

SHA (Sharjah)

Request the professional assessment through SHA's own portal, declare any earlier attempts at other UAE authorities, and pay the application, review, DataFlow and exam fees together. SHA reviews the application in 8 working days. See our SHA exam guide.

What to Do If There Are No Seats

  • Search other cities, and other countries. The exam does not change with the centre: Prometric's SCFHS FAQ says the content is the same everywhere and only the cost may vary by country. A centre one city away may have seats weeks earlier.
  • Book early, but inside your window. Prometric's SCFHS FAQ recommends booking at least two working days before your preferred date and says Prometric aims to offer an appointment within two weeks. SCFHS opens scheduling no more than three months ahead, and a DHCA Eligibility ID lasts three months, so a seat outside your window is no use.
  • Check again. Seats can open up when other candidates reschedule or cancel.
  • No confirmation email after 24 hours? Prometric's SCFHS FAQ says to contact a Prometric Regional Contact Centre. For DOH, check your spam folder for @pearson.com messages first.

After You Book: Prepare for the Exam You Booked

Once you have a date, practise for that regulator's exam, not a generic one. Formats differ: DHA's computer-based exams are mostly 150 questions in 3 hours, SCFHS's are 200 questions in two 120-minute parts, and DOH and DHA report only Pass or Fail, so you will not learn your weak areas from a failed attempt.

  • Take a free timed mock test for your profession, scored domain by domain.
  • Work through free practice questions for your regulator, such as the DHA, DOH and SCFHS question pages.
  • For full-length papers, our question banks are prepared for the authority you are sitting: tell us your regulator and we send the bank for that exam.
  • Read the exam-day rules for your provider, including ID, arrival times and what you can bring, in our test centre guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Create a Sheryan account in your passport name, copy the DHA Unique ID it issues, then generate your Eligibility ID in Sheryan and pay the AED 200 credentialing fee. You use the Eligibility ID to book on Prometric's DHA page.

No. Every GCC regulator issues an eligibility ID, permit or code first - DHA's Eligibility ID, SCFHS's scheduling permit, NHRA's eligibility code - and Prometric needs it to book you. DOH and OMSB exams are booked with Pearson VUE instead.

No. DOH exams are delivered by Pearson VUE. You pay the pre-booking fee in TAMM, then use the Pearson VUE link that appears in your TAMM account to pick a date and centre.

USD 180, 240 or 280 depending on the exam, according to DHA's CBT Guideline (September 2026) - about AED 660 to 1,030 - paid to Prometric. The AED 200 Sheryan credentialing fee is separate.

SCFHS's applicant guides say scheduling may not be available more than three months in advance, and you can sit only once in each testing window.

At DHA, no: cancelling or not attending does not count as a failed attempt, but you lose the fee. At SCFHS, yes: absence, or arriving more than 30 minutes late, counts as an attempt unless SCFHS accepts your reason.

Yes. DHA lets you sit the exam while DataFlow verification runs, which is usually the fastest way through the licence.
