King Salman Hospital is a government hospital in the Al-Uraija district of southwest Riyadh. It was built in 1984 (1405H) and inaugurated by King Salman bin Abdulaziz when he was Governor of Riyadh Province. Saudipedia, the Saudi national encyclopedia, reports about 500 beds and more than 1,000 health practitioners as of 2018.
The hospital is part of Riyadh First Health Cluster, the Health Holding Company network that also includes King Saud Medical City. It receives referrals from primary health care centres and other hospitals in Riyadh Province, and it runs 24-hour adult and paediatric emergency services and a cardiac intensive care unit.
King Salman Hospital was the first government health facility in Riyadh Province to run a home health care service. It was also early to digital services, with electronic radiology, pharmacy and laboratory systems used by about 50,000 patients a month according to Saudipedia, and its laboratory holds a Randox International Quality Assessment Scheme (RIQAS) certificate.
The hospital's honours include CBAHI accreditation and the WHO Baby-Friendly Hospital designation, and Saudipedia also lists JCI accreditation. In 2023 Riyadh First Health Cluster opened a Developmental and Behavioural Disorders Centre at the hospital, the first specialised centre of its kind in Riyadh region, for children and adolescents with autism, ADHD, speech and language delay and related conditions. In 2024 SCFHS accredited the hospital's urology training programme.
