Corniche Hospital is the government maternity and newborn hospital of Abu Dhabi, run by SEHA, the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, which is part of PureHealth. Founded in 1977, it has recorded more than 300,000 births, and around one in three babies in the emirate is delivered there.

The hospital has about 180 beds and delivers more than 6,000 babies a year. Its 64-cot level III neonatal intensive care unit is the largest in the UAE and admits nearly half of Abu Dhabi's NICU patients.

Corniche Hospital is a referral centre for high-risk pregnancies. Its Foetal Medicine Centre has carried out more than 500 therapeutic fetal interventions, including laparotomy-assisted fetoscopic repair of spina bifida before birth, and the hospital offers urogynaecology, pelvic floor, early pregnancy, emergency gynaecology and neonatal neurodevelopment services.

The hospital is JCI accredited, has been designated Baby-Friendly by the WHO and UNICEF, and is recognised as a Centre of Excellence for minimally invasive gynaecological surgery and endometriosis care. It is also accredited by the National Institute for Health Specialties as a training site.

PureHealth broke ground in June 2026 on a new SEHA Corniche Hospital: a nine-floor, 357-bed women's and newborn hospital with expanded NICU and special care baby capacity. For midwives, neonatal nurses and obstetric doctors, that growth makes Corniche one of the most important employers in women's health in the Gulf.
