What the real Midwife licensing exam looks like
Midwifes applying to practise in the UAE sit a computer-based multiple-choice examination - DHA exam code MID5104, delivered through Prometric for DHA, MOHAP and SHA, and through Pearson VUE for DOH Abu Dhabi. The pass mark is 50%, and the result is reported to you as pass or fail only - your score is never released.
The paper is built to a published blueprint, which is why a domain-by-domain diagnostic is more useful than a raw percentage. All GCC authorities (DHA-Dubai, DOH/HAAD-Abu Dhabi, MOHAP-UAE federal, SCFHS/Saudi Prometric, QCHP/DHP-Qatar, NHRA-Bahrain, OMSB-Oman) deliver a computer-based Prometric MCQ exam. The SCFHS Midwifery Specialist blueprint specifies 150 MCQs in 3 hours with 5 content sections; the SCFHS Midwifery Technician content guideline also specifies 150 MCQs/3 hours but splits content into 10 sections with a 50% pass. Blueprint category weights may vary +/-5% and are subject to change; single best-answer MCQs are standard (typically 4 options). No negative marking. Exact question count, duration, pass mark and eligibility must be verified per authority and per profession tier (specialist vs technician) at time of booking.

A midwife believes an antenatal woman is being coerced and financially controlled by her partner, who answers all questions for her. Acting as the woman's advocate, what is the most appropriate first step?

Why: Effective advocacy and safeguarding require seeing the potential victim alone to enable disclosure and assessment away from the suspected abuser. Confronting the partner may escalate danger, doing nothing fails the duty to safeguard, and unilaterally removing an adult exceeds the midwife's authority.

How to use this diagnostic properly
- 1Sit it cold, once. Do not look anything up. A diagnostic you help yourself through tells you nothing. The number you get is only useful if it is honest.
- 2Read every rationale - especially the ones you got right. Getting a question right by elimination is not the same as knowing it. The worked reasoning is free above, whether or not you buy anything.
- 3Work weakest domain first. The breakdown orders your domains worst-first for exactly this reason. Studying what you are already good at feels productive and moves nothing.
- 4Re-sit under full exam conditions later. The real paper is far longer than this and stamina matters. Full-length timed papers are what the paid bank is for.
