Overview of PMAH
Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital (PMAH) is a government referral hospital in the Al Rawabi district of east Riyadh. First planned as the Eastern Riyadh Hospital, it was renamed by King Abdullah in 2011 and inaugurated by Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz on 28 April 2013. The Ministry of Health put the cost of building it at more than SAR 465 million.
At opening, the Ministry described a five-storey, 500-bed hospital with 102 intensive care beds, about 62 emergency beds, 52 dialysis beds, a 16-bed burns unit, 85 outpatient clinics and 15 operating rooms, including 10 main digital theatres and 4 day-surgery rooms. It described the emergency department as one of the largest in the region. During the COVID-19 pandemic the hospital served as a major treatment centre and expanded its intensive care capacity.
PMAH is now part of Riyadh Second Health Cluster, the network under Health Holding Company that covers the east and north of Riyadh and includes King Fahad Medical City, 9 hospitals, 3 dental centres, a kidney centre and 103 primary care centres. It treats adult acute and chronic medical and surgical conditions at secondary and tertiary level.
Its surgical services cover general, vascular, gastrointestinal, burns and cosmetic, thoracic, orthopaedic and spinal, endocrine, kidney and urinary tract, adult neurosurgery, ENT and head and neck, maxillofacial and ophthalmic surgery, plus adult cardiac surgery. Medical services include internal medicine and its subspecialties, ECMO, dialysis, palliative care, psychiatry and a dental service, supported by imaging with MRI, CT, nuclear medicine and interventional radiology.
For healthcare professionals, PMAH offers heavy acute exposure: emergency, trauma, critical care, burns and surgery. It suits nurses and doctors who want to build experience in a high-volume Saudi government hospital, and it runs training events and workshops for its staff.

Careers at PMAH (2026)
PMAH staff are employed by Riyadh Second Health Cluster on government health-sector terms. Pay follows SCFHS classification and the health cadre scale, with allowances such as housing and transport on top of basic salary for most staff. The hospital's emergency, trauma, ICU and burns services create steady demand for experienced acute-care nurses, intensivists, emergency physicians and surgeons. Saudi localisation targets mean many openings now prioritise Saudi nationals, while expatriate hiring continues mainly for experienced and specialist staff.
To work at PMAH, healthcare professionals typically need a valid Saudi Arabia license from Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. Neelim's licensing service handles the entire application process, including Dataflow PSV and Prometric exam registration.
Typical Roles
Hiring Process
PMAH recruits through Riyadh Second Health Cluster, which posts openings in the Job Vacancies section of its portal at rc2.med.sa. Health Holding Company runs cluster-wide recruitment rounds; its February 2026 round advertised 3,150 posts across 20 clusters, with applications through each cluster's own portal and one cluster per applicant. Saudi nationals also use the Jadarat national employment platform, and the Ministry of Health lists its own recruitment portal. Expatriate staff are usually recruited through cluster or Ministry overseas recruitment and licensed recruitment agencies. Every clinical hire needs Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) registration and classification: you apply on the Mumaris Plus portal, your qualifications and experience go through DataFlow primary source verification, you sit the SCFHS licensure exam for your profession (SMLE, SNLE, SPLE, SDLE and others) at a Prometric centre, and SCFHS classifies you at a grade that sets your title and pay band.
Neelim's career guidance team can help you navigate this process and prepare for interviews.
