Overview of KCCC
The Kuwait Cancer Control Center (KCCC) is the Ministry of Health's national centre for cancer care. Located in the Shuwaikh medical area of Kuwait City, it has treated Kuwait's cancer patients since 1968, when its first radiotherapy building opened, and it serves the whole country as the main public referral centre for oncology.
KCCC is a campus rather than a single building. Its specialised centres include the Radiotherapy Building, the Hussain Makki Juma Center for Specialized Surgery, the Faisal Sultan Bin Essa Center for Radiodiagnosis and Radiotherapy, the Sheikha Badriya Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah Center for Oncology and Stem Cell Transfusion, a Palliative Care Center, the Yacoub Behbehani Laboratory Building and Bone Marrow Transplantation Center, and the NBK Pediatric Hospital for children with cancer.
The centre provides the full range of oncology care: medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiotherapy, haemato-oncology, bone marrow and stem cell transplantation, and palliative care with pain management, nutrition support, physiotherapy and psychosocial support. ESMO lists KCCC as a Designated Centre of Integrated Oncology and Palliative Care and reports that it treats more than 2,000 new cancer patients a year. In 2010 it began a five-year quality and clinical partnership with Toronto's University Health Network.
In October 2024 the Ministry of Health said the existing centre had 214 beds. A much larger replacement is being built next to the current campus in the Shuwaikh Medical District: a new 618-bed cancer hospital that the Ministry has been preparing to move services into. Check the Ministry's announcements for its opening date, as it will change where many KCCC staff work.
For healthcare professionals, KCCC is one of the few places in Kuwait to build a full oncology career, from chemotherapy and radiation therapy to transplant and palliative care. It recruits oncology nurses, oncologists, haematologists, radiation therapists, medical physicists, oncology pharmacists and laboratory staff through the Ministry of Health.
Healthcare professionals interested in working at KCCC can explore opportunities through Neelim's career guidance service. We assist with licensing, Dataflow verification, and exam preparation for Kuwait.

Careers at KCCC (2026)
KCCC offers specialist oncology careers in Kuwait's public sector. Staff are employed on Ministry of Health contracts with tax-free pay, and MOH packages for expatriates generally include allowances on top of basic salary. Oncology nurses, haematology and transplant nurses, radiation therapists and oncology pharmacists are among the roles that need specialist experience, and the planned move to a 618-bed replacement hospital is likely to raise staffing needs over time, though the Ministry has not published hiring numbers.
To work at KCCC, healthcare professionals typically need a valid Kuwait license from Ministry of Health Kuwait. Neelim's licensing service handles the entire application process, including Dataflow PSV and Prometric exam registration.
Typical Roles
Hiring Process
KCCC does not run its own public jobs portal. Expatriate staff are hired by the Kuwait Ministry of Health through MOH overseas recruitment campaigns and recruitment agencies licensed in the candidate's own country, then assigned to the centre. Every clinical hire needs a Kuwait Ministry of Health licence. The usual sequence is: an employer or MOH recruitment channel selects you, your credentials go through primary source verification (DataFlow; physicians are also verified through ECFMG's EPIC service), the file is lodged with the MOH Medical Licensing Department, and you sit the Kuwait MOH licensing exam at a Prometric centre where your category requires it. For oncology roles, keep evidence of specialist experience (for example chemotherapy administration, transplant unit or radiotherapy work) ready, as it supports your grading. Avoid anyone asking for large upfront fees for a guaranteed MOH post.
Neelim's career guidance team can help you navigate this process and prepare for interviews.
