Overview of KCH Dubai
King's College Hospital London in Dubai is the UAE arm of King's College Hospital, the London teaching hospital with more than 180 years of history. Its 100-bed multi-specialty tertiary hospital in Dubai Hills Estate began admitting inpatients in January 2019 and was formally inaugurated by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, then Deputy Ruler of Dubai, in March 2019.
The hospital was set up as a joint venture involving Al Tayer Group, Dubai Investments and the UK-based Ashmore Group. Alongside the Dubai Hills hospital, King's runs medical centres in Jumeirah, Dubai Marina and Mudon, the King's Institute of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Obesity (KIDEO) and physiotherapy and aesthetics clinics in Dubai Marina.
The link between King's and the UAE goes back to 1979, when Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan funded the King's Liver Research Centre in London. That heritage shows in Dubai: King's became the first hospital in the UAE licensed to perform liver transplants, opened Dubai's first adult liver transplant centre in 2023, and in November 2024 inaugurated a dedicated adult and paediatric Liver Transplant Centre of Excellence.
King's says about a third of its clinical staff were recruited from the UK, including all of its department heads, and most of its doctors trained in Britain with NHS experience. The hospital is JCI accredited and holds Surgical Review Corporation Centre of Excellence designations in areas including orthopaedic surgery, spine surgery, breast treatment, endoscopy and surgical proctology.
Newsweek ranked King's College Hospital London in Dubai 8th in the UAE in its World's Best Hospitals 2026 list, and it appears in Newsweek's Best Specialized Hospitals Middle East 2026 rankings for orthopaedics and oncology. For healthcare professionals, it is one of Dubai's most sought-after private employers, especially for clinicians with UK training.

Typical Roles
Hiring Process
King's posts its vacancies on its official careers portal (an Oracle candidate portal linked from kingscollegehospitaldubai.com/people-practices), where you create a profile and apply to a specific role. Shortlisted candidates are interviewed by HR and the hiring department, followed by credential and reference checks. Clinical staff need a Dubai Health Authority (DHA) licence: an eligibility check against the Unified PQR in the Sheryan portal, DataFlow primary source verification of your degree, licence and experience, and the DHA computer-based exam delivered by Prometric unless your qualification is exempt.
