Overview of ACC
The Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) is Hamad Medical Corporation's (HMC) dedicated outpatient and day surgery facility, located in Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City in Doha. It opened in stages from 2017, starting with podiatry and then digestive disease and endoscopy clinics relocated from Hamad General Hospital.
The 33,400 square metre centre was built so patients can have planned procedures and go home the same day. It has 14 fully equipped operating theatres, pre-operative and recovery units, and a 64-bed capacity, with some surgical inpatient and observation beds for patients who need a longer stay. Clinical imaging, phlebotomy, a pharmacy and allied health services are all on site.
Services moved across in phases from Hamad General Hospital and Rumailah Hospital. The ACC now provides day surgery and elective procedures, minimally invasive surgery, endoscopy and gastroenterology, audiology and balance services, ENT, ophthalmology, urology, podiatry, pain management and pre-admission anaesthesia assessment.
As part of HMC, the ACC holds Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, granted in 2019 and renewed in 2023, and Planetree Gold Certification for person-centred care (2020 and 2024). HMC states that it never charges applicants for interviews, security deposits or placements.
For nurses, anaesthesia staff and surgical teams, the ACC offers a high-throughput, planned-care environment with predictable daytime theatre lists, which differs from the emergency workload of HMC's acute hospitals. Like all HMC facilities, it requires a Qatar licence from the Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP, formerly QCHP).
Healthcare professionals interested in working at ACC can explore opportunities through Neelim's career guidance service. We assist with licensing, Dataflow verification, and exam preparation for Qatar.

Careers at ACC (2026)
The ACC suits nurses, anaesthesia staff, surgeons and allied health professionals who prefer planned, high-volume day-case work. Theatre, recovery, endoscopy and outpatient nursing roles are core to the centre. As an HMC facility, employment follows HMC's grading and benefits, typically including housing and transport allowances, annual flights, medical cover and end-of-service benefits. HMC is Qatar's largest healthcare employer, so staff can also move between its hospitals over their careers.
To work at ACC, healthcare professionals typically need a valid Qatar license from Department of Healthcare Professions. Neelim's licensing service handles the entire application process, including Dataflow PSV and Prometric exam registration.
