A short diagnostic cannot predict whether you will pass - only the real exam does that. It will show you, honestly, where you currently stand.

What the real Reproductive Medicine & Infertility licensing exam looks like

Candidates for a Reproductive Medicine & Infertility licence in the UAE sit a computer-based multiple-choice examination - DHA exam code RMA6062, delivered through Prometric for DHA, MOHAP and SHA, and through Pearson VUE for DOH Abu Dhabi. The DHA pass mark is 60% (DHA CBT Guideline, Sep 2026); other authorities set their own, so confirm yours before booking. The result is reported to you as pass or fail only - your score is never released.

Pass marks at a glance: DHA exam codes and pass marks for all written exams in one sourced table.

The paper is built to a published blueprint, which is why a domain-by-domain diagnostic is more useful than a raw percentage. Your questions above were drawn from across Anovulation, PCOS and Ovulation Induction, Assisted Reproductive Technology, Embryology Laboratory, Cryopreservation and PGT, Endometriosis, Uterine Factors and Recurrent Pregnancy Loss and 4 more - the same areas the real paper weights.

Before you can book the exam at all you need Dataflow primary source verification of your degree, licence and experience, which typically runs several weeks. Candidates routinely underestimate this and end up sitting the exam sooner after study than they planned. Check where you stand with our free eligibility checker or confirm whether your title even requires an exam using the Prometric exam checker.

You get three attempts in total across all UAE authorities - not three each - under the Unified Professional Qualification Requirements. At roughly AED 1,030 per attempt, plus the licensing delay each failure adds to your visa and start date, the cost of going in underprepared is not really the exam fee.

A worked Reproductive Medicine & Infertility exam question

Every question in the diagnostic and in the paid bank is written to this standard: a clinical stem, four plausible options and the reasoning for the answer, with its source.

Anovulation, PCOS and Ovulation Induction

A 24-year-old woman has oligomenorrhoea and clinical hirsutism. Thyroid function, prolactin and 17-hydroxyprogesterone are normal. Ovarian ultrasound is normal. Does she meet diagnostic criteria for PCOS?

  1. ANo, polycystic ovaries are mandatory
  2. BYes, two of three criteria are metCorrect
  3. CNo, biochemical hyperandrogenism is required
  4. DYes, but only if insulin resistance is proven

Why: Under the Rotterdam criteria, PCOS needs two of oligo-anovulation, clinical or biochemical hyperandrogenism and polycystic ovarian morphology, after excluding other causes. Insulin resistance is not a diagnostic criterion.

Reproductive Medicine & Infertility sample questions with answers

4 more original exam-style Reproductive Medicine & Infertility questions, worked in full. They are not real or recalled exam questions, and none of them is in the diagnostic above, so sit that first if you have not.

  1. Question 1 · Anovulation, PCOS and Ovulation Induction

A 29-year-old anovulatory woman with PCOS has a BMI of 34 kg/m2. Before or alongside medication, which intervention most improves her chance of ovulation?

    1. AStarting a combined oral contraceptive
    2. BLosing 5 to 10% of body weight
    3. CLaparoscopic ovarian drilling first
    4. DLong-term spironolactone
    Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: B. Losing 5 to 10% of body weight

Modest weight loss of 5 to 10% in women with excess weight can restore ovulation and improve response to treatment. The combined pill and spironolactone prevent pregnancy, and drilling is a second-line option.

  2. Question 2 · Assisted Reproductive Technology

Which patient meets the Bologna criteria for poor ovarian response?

    1. AAge 35 with an AMH of 2.5 ng/mL
    2. BAge 41 with 3 oocytes in a prior standard cycle
    3. CAge 41 with an antral follicle count of 14
    4. DAge 32 with 6 oocytes in a prior cycle
    Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: B. Age 41 with 3 oocytes in a prior standard cycle

The Bologna criteria require two of: age 40 or more or another risk factor, a previous poor response of 3 or fewer oocytes with conventional stimulation, and an abnormal reserve test. Age 41 with only 3 oocytes previously meets two criteria, whereas age 41 with a normal follicle count meets only one.

  3. Question 3 · Complications of ART

A woman develops OHSS 12 days after an hCG trigger and fresh embryo transfer. What is the most likely driver of this late-onset presentation?

    1. ALuteal oestradiol supplementation
    2. BResidual exogenous hCG from the trigger
    3. CEndogenous hCG from an early pregnancy
    4. DOvarian torsion during retrieval
    Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: C. Endogenous hCG from an early pregnancy

Late OHSS, presenting 10 or more days after the trigger, is driven by rising endogenous hCG from pregnancy and tends to be more severe and prolonged. Early OHSS within 9 days is linked to the exogenous hCG trigger.

Reference: RCOG Green-top Guideline No. 5: Management of OHSS 2016

  4. Question 4 · Complications of ART

Six weeks after transfer of two embryos, a woman has right iliac fossa pain. Ultrasound shows a live intrauterine pregnancy and a complex right adnexal mass with free fluid. What is the most likely diagnosis?

    1. AOvarian torsion of a stimulated ovary
    2. BRuptured corpus luteum cyst
    3. CHeterotopic pregnancy
    4. DThreatened miscarriage
    Show answer and explanation

    Correct answer: C. Heterotopic pregnancy

Heterotopic pregnancy is much more common after ART, particularly with multiple embryo transfer, and a visible intrauterine pregnancy must not exclude a coexisting ectopic. A corpus luteum cyst is possible but less likely with an adnexal mass and free fluid after ART.

Last reviewed September 2026. About these questions: every item is original, written to the published blueprint, with a rationale and a reference, and no recalled or leaked exam content is used. How we write our questions.

How to use this diagnostic properly

  1. 1Sit it cold, once. Do not look anything up. A diagnostic you help yourself through tells you nothing. The number you get is only useful if it is honest.
  2. 2Read every rationale - especially the ones you got right. Getting a question right by elimination is not the same as knowing it. The worked reasoning is free above, whether or not you buy anything.
  3. 3Work weakest domain first. The breakdown orders your domains worst-first for exactly this reason. Studying what you are already good at feels productive and moves nothing.
  4. 4Re-sit under full exam conditions later. The real paper is far longer than this and stamina matters. Full-length timed papers are what the paid bank is for.
